Meet Our Stylists

Tammy

Tammy

Grooming at The Velvet Touch for 24 years.

I was in college when I started working here, not knowing a thing about dogs. The art of dog grooming was fascinating to me, so I asked my friend and shop owner, Tim, who showed Bichons, if I could practice on one of his dogs, and ever since then I was hooked!!!

My first grooming competition was at the All American Grooming Show in 1994 and I won Best First Timer, Best All Around Groomer and Best Scissored Poodle.

The All American Grooming Show is the longest-running show in the world, founded in the early 1970's.

I took some time off from competition to start a family. In 2009 I won "Best in Show" at the All American and that got me a spot on Groom Team USA.

I'm honored to be on the team with such talented people, and have the opportunity to represent the United States of America at World Team Competitions. Think of Groom Team USA like the "Olympics of Professional Pet Styling".

Currently I also represent Espree animal products, based in Dallas Texas. They sponsor me so I can travel around the country, work trade shows and do mini demo's for them during the shows.

My goals include starting the certifying process, traveling more and hopefully making the travel team to compete abroad.
